OUR PURPOSE
The Foreclosure Intervention Program (PDF brochure) helps City of Jacksonville residents stay in their home and stop the foreclosure process by providing:
- Mortgage Counseling Services
- Direct Mortgage Assistance
- Loan Modification and Refinance Counseling
- Budget and Financial Literacy
Homeowners who live in Duval County who are behind on their mortgage and are trying to prevent foreclosure can apply now for Foreclosure Intervention through City providers. The program is first-come, first-serve.
Upon Intake from an approved Foreclosure Intervention Provider, eligible applicants will receive assistance with budgeting, credit and financial literacy. Foreclosure Intervention Providers will determine if you are eligible for mortgage assistance or modification.
Eligible applicants can receive up to $12,000 to bring their mortgage current, complete a mortgage modification and/or to refinance their existing “Adjustable Rate” mortgage to a fixed-rate mortgage.
The City funds will be in the form of a deferred payment loan secured to the property for a period of five (5) years. Funds will be made on a first-come, first-serve basis.
