Ask-A-Lawyer
JALA works with The Jacksonville Bar Association to offer quarterly “Ask-A-Lawyer” events. These events are free of charge. Individuals have the opportunity to speak with an attorney, one-to-one, for 10-15 minutes to get insight and guidance on a specific legal matter. The attorneys are not opening cases for representation but are providing legal information on options for resolving an issue and opinions on whether a case has legal merit.
Licensed attorney volunteers will be available to answer questions in the following areas: contracts, family law, foreclosure, real estate, employment, probate, worker’s compensation, social security disability, personal injury, criminal law (including seal/expunge, restoration of civil rights, and driver’s license reinstatement), bankruptcy, immigration, wills and advance directives, and landlord/tenant.
