Temporary Relative Custody
Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc. assists individuals who are caring for the children of another in obtaining temporary relative custody of children. Generally, we require that all parties are agreeable to the arrangement and request individuals that are seeking temporary relative custody to obtain the signed consent of all parents and guardians to the children prior to being able to accept a case for representation.
Temporary Relative Custody allows you 1) consent to medical treatment for the child; 2) obtain medical and school records of a child; 3) enroll the child in school; 4) and consent to the child participating in school activities.
