Immigration Unit
JALA’s Immigration Unit is divided into two distinctive programs:
- Refugee Immigration Project
- Low-Bono Immigration Program, better known as AIRE (Assistance for Immigrants at a Reduce Expense)
Refugee Project
The purpose of the program is to assist refugees to achieve economic self-sufficiency and social adjustment within the shortest possible time after their arrival in the United States.
Who Is Eligible?
- Amerisians
- Persons who have been granted asylum
- Certified Victims of Human Trafficking
- Cuban/Haitian Parolees
- Lawful Permanent Residents
- Special Immigrants of Iraqi and/or Afghani nationality

AIRE Low-Bono Program
The purpose of this new initiative is to help make legal representation affordable, provide a wider array of legal services to the immigrant community at reduced fees, and alleviate the gap for low to moderate income individuals who are below 400% of the poverty line.

Individuals who would like to receive assistance with AIRE may complete an online application to see if you qualify. There is a non-refundable application fee of $30.00.
